Robic wins RAAM on SCOTT
RAAM
Slovenian Jure Robic became the first man to win solo RAAM four times (Seana Hogan has won six solo women’s RAAMs). The two men who have come closest to this feat before him (with three wins each) are Rob Kish and Wolfgang Fasching. Robic denied Fasching a fourth win last year, but nobody could stop Robic from achieving it this year. His finishing time of 8 days, 23 hours and 33 minutes gave him an average speed of 13.98 mph. Andrea Rene interviewed him on the finishing stage in Annapolis, MD. When she asked him how he did it, he said, “I just sit on my bike, start pedaling, and I am here.” To read the full story, please click here.
