Alex Schlopy is no stranger to the camera, he has been featured in movies by Teton Gravity Research, Warren Miller, Rage Films and more. Schlopy’s resume reads like a professional skier in their 20’s but he is just 17 years old. In addition to having his whole career ahead of him, Schlopy is still experiencing the joys of high school; girls, adolescence, fun, sports, homework. Wait a minute, HOMEWORK? That’s not fun, unless you get to share it with the world like this edit from Alex for his film class about his off season. Keep an eye out for Alex this winter on the Dew Tour and filming, he will be everywhere.

Givisiez, 29. Oktober 2009 – Nach monatelangen Spekulationen setzt SCOTT Sports den Gerüchten um Tom Wallisch ein Ende und heisst die weltweite Nummer 1 des Slopestyles im International Team willkommen. Wallisch repräsentiert SCOTT mit Ski (Punisher), Goggles (The Fix) und Stöcken (Team Issue).

Mit nur 21 Jahren hat Tom bereits bewiesen, dass er zu den Besten der Slopestyle Szene zählt und Filmparts wie kaum ein Anderer zustande bringt. Auch seine bisherige „Palmarès“ kann sich zeigen lassen. Neben zahlreichen Filmproduktionen, u.a. mit Level 1 Productions, erzielte er auch Top Platzierungen bei Slopestyle Contests - darunter Siege bei der Dew Tour Northstar und dem Dumont Cup. Seine hervorragende letzte Saison krönte er mit dem Titel „#1 Ranked Slopestyle skier“, verliehen von der Assocciation of Freeskiing Professionals

„Ich bin super stoked Teil der Scott Familie zu sein und bin überzeugt, mit SCOTT Skis Stöcken und Goggles das nächste Level zu erreichen“, so Wallisch.

Kommende Saison wird Wallisch bei internationalen Contests wie den X Games und der Dew Tour sein Talent unter Beweis stellen. Auch plant er mit Level1, 4bi9 und Field Productions zu filmen.

Who is Dane Tudor

Flashback 2005 - I was sitting at the Bottom of the US Extreme Freesking Championships in Crested Butte, CO sipping a cold PBR when I first saw Dane Tudor ski. This was a few years before becoming the Team Manager at SCOTT but realized that I was witnessing someone with a promising future in skiing. At just 15 Dane had just flashed a line down Bodybag in Crested Butte that would have had him sitting in first place in the Pro Men’s division, however at only 15 he had to compete in the Juniors.

His line had everyone at the bottom talking about the little kid from AK who just flashed a line that had put the likes of Wendy Fisher, Seth Morrison, and more on the podium in Crested Butte before. Dane went on to win his first of several junior big mountain titles that year in Crested Butte by a landslide, and his winning ways were started. When his resume came across my desk just after I started at SCOTT I immediately picked up the phone to call and welcome him to the team.

It was only about 2 to 3 years ago Dane decided to start taking his already solid big mountain skills to the park. Needless to say it did not take long for him to develop the skills it takes to compete all over the world in Slopestyle competitions. These days Dane can be found everywhere from a Heli in AK with Abma and Poorboyz, Dew Tour Stops, or winning the Canadian Freeskiing Open. Somewhere in all these trips he also managed to score the first 8 minutes of Poorboyz Latest release, Everyday is a Saturday. Just ask Mark Abma about Dane, “Seems like he has the makings for greatness. Growing up at a mountain like Red, Dane has been studying lines since a young age. He was able to put all this together and shred lines like a seasoned veteran this year on his first heli trip ever in AK.”

These days Dane has been hanging out in Alaska spending down time at home by riding moto, and hitting the gym to stay in shape. During this time Dane is still a business man working on his website, www.danetudor.com and traveling to premieres all over the globe. On his travels he also swung buy IF3 to pick up hardware in the form of, “Male Performer of the Year,” which has to be one of the biggest moments of Dane’s life this early in his career. Quite the honor when going up against the likes of Simon Dumont, Tanner Hall, Sammy Carlson, Seth Morrison, and many more.

Everyone in Crested Butte got a peek into the future 5 years ago and was talking about the young kid from AK who just flashed the pro line, these days everyone in the Ski industry is talking about that young kid from AK who just blew peoples minds in Everyday is a Saturday, that kid is Dane Tudor.

Jedes Jahr trifft sich die Creme de la Creme des Freeskiing in Zürich, um vor einer einzigartigen Kulisse den Freestyle Champ zu küren.

Scott Teamrider Elias Ambühl qualifizierte sich neben Lolo Favre und Tom Wallisch als jüngster Teilnehmer für das Finale am Sonntag. In einer atemberaubenden Show wurde dann der Sieger erkoren. Mit einem perfekt gestandenen Switch Double Cork 1080 holte sich Elias Ambühl den zweiten Platz hinter dem Amerikaner Sammy Carlson.

Lori Huber gewinnt Big Mountain Chill Event in Mt. Olympus

Nach einem dritten Platz bei den Freeskiing Open in New Zealand Mitte August, gewinnt Teamfahrerin Lori den Big Mountain am Mt. Olympus und sammelt wichtige Zähler für die Freeride World Tour Gesamtwertung.
Sie entschied sich für 2 technisch sehr anspruchsvolle Lines und verwies die Konkurrenz mit einer flüssigen Fahrt auf die Plätze.

The first line I skied was more technical than I usually choose at a comp, but I liked the challenge it posed for me and I decided to hit it. I carved the first two turns in beautiful dry powder over a spine and wind lip before the terrain narrowed into two tight chutes (tighter than I had anticipated!) separated by two large rocks. Taking the skiers right chute I managed to stay on my feet, a couple of hop turns between 2 boulders, and then I came making out of the chute at full speed. The remaining 150 vertical meters went by in a blur of 3 huge turns. Thankfully I managed to hold it together, what a rush!

I really was looking forward to skiing my second line – the face was quite short but packed with features to play with. I was so stoked to have skied my line just as I had planned!

Roner and The Nitro Circus in Idaho

The Nitro Circus Crew in Twin Falls, ID.

When you get a phone call from Erik Roner asking if you would like to come hang out with the Nitro Circus, you get a stoked feeling...followed by a nervous knot in your stomach. Roner, a Scott Wintersports athlete, not only films amazing ski segments in Teton Gravity Research's movies but also moonlights as a member of the stunt loving crew filming for MTV's hit series "The Nitro Circus". After a successful Season 1 on MTV, Roner and the rest of the Nitro crew have been cruising around the country filming for Season 2.

On Saturday, August 15, the Nitro Crew rolled into Twin Falls, ID, just down the road from SCOTT USA headquarters in Ketchum. Wanting a piece of the action, we packed up the truck at 6:30am and headed to Twin Falls to hang out with the crew. Not to give away any of the action but the bridge in Twin Falls is the only legal bridge to base jump off in the US.

Saturday was their last day of filming for Season 2 of the Nitro Circus on MTV which is set to premiere on August 27th at 10pm ET/PT. Make sure to check out the Teaser below and keep up with everything Nitro Circus at http://nitrocircus.com.
