Cavendish Shoots for Two
18.06.2009
Mark Cavendish won the sprint finish in Bad Zurzach to claim stage 6, his second of the Tour de Suisse. The Cervelo Test Team pulled their sprinter Thor Hushovd up the left side of the road with just over one kilometer to go. The race was going their way until Tony Martin lead the Columbia train to the front to take over the pace making. Hushovd managed to break the Columbia ranks, though, by taking George Hincapie's wheel, and looked to have the perfect leadout. George turned the tables though by pulling right and leaving Hushovd to make his own way to the line. Cavendish took full advantage by sling shotting left around the Norwegian and put on a burst of speed for a clean victory.
