Iker Camano finishes third in brutal Stage 4 of the Tour of California

Saunier Duval - SCOTT rider Iker Camano finished third today in Stage 4 of the Tour of California. The stage started in Seaside and meandered along the coast to finish in San Luis Obispo in what was termed the "Queen" stage of the Tour.



The stage ended up being the longest stage in the race's 3-year history, extending over nearly seven hours of blistering cold and soaking wet conditions. Close to 20 riders dropped out due to the extreme conditions but Iker was part of a seven man break that included George Hincapie and a few other warriors with 25 miles to go. Many athletes confirmed that this was one of the hardest days in the saddle of their professional career. The stage win puts Saunier Duval - SCOTT into third position in the GC and lessens Camano's time deficit after this tough stage. Iker is now 2:37 behind race leader Levi Leipheimer and in 15th place overall.
