Gigathlon 2005, Switzerland

This years Gigathlon took place from July 8 - 10, 2005. In a route stretching 394 km across Switzerland, from Locarno to Basel, participants had to be cope with five different events: swimming, inline skating, running, road racing, and mountain biking.

Scott was a main sponsor of this event and showed up at every destination with our truck, “Big Ed”.

The winner of the solo category was Martin Soliva, with a finishing time of 22h 17m.
The first solo woman was Ariane Gutknecht. She finished the race with a time of 26h 41m.
The best couple team was Radys.com with Rita Bürgi and Adrian Ruhstaller. They arrived in Basel with a time of 21h 20m.
Like last year, the best team of five in 2005 was the Swisspower Team of Thomas Frischknecht, Florian Vogel, Amanda Picard, Franziska Stampfli and Abraham Tadese.

There were also a couple of very successful Scott teams at this year's Gigathlon.
