At the fifth World Cup race of the season in the Canadian Mont St. Anne Nino and Flo anticipated one of the most demanding mountain bike courses, the calendar has to offer.

Rainy weather made the already extremely technical course even more demanding for the riders and material. Already at the beginning of the first lap Ralph Näf could get away from the rest of the field and even Julien Absalon lost some time. As a result, Näf could not keep up the high pace and Absalon took his fourth World Cup victory in a row.

Also Nino got of the right foot, was intermittent in fourth place before a technical defect stopped him and he subsequently found himself back at rank 30. After a courageous catch he reached the finish line ultimately on 13th place ... "It is so exasperating this year. I just do not want to succeed. At the end even the gearshifter broke.”

Flo was in trouble during the first half of the race and got late into higher gears. With the sixth place, he nevertheless scored valuable World Cup points and the confirmation that he is in good shape: "A place in the top-5 would have been great, but as I had bad legs in the beginning, I can now be really satisfied with sixth. At the end, in the steep climbs, I always was the strongest in the group with Flueckiger and Gujan and that makes me confident for Bromont »
