Stage 11, Pontedera - Pontedera TT, 50K

BiciRace.com spoke with Aaron Olson this morning before he went out on his training ride with Litu and Piotr Mazur. L'Americano was in great spirits and wanted to talk about the south of Italy. He really loved the rustic look of southern Italy, where the Giro spent stage 9 and 10, saying "It is really different, it looked like a good place to take a vacation."

"Here in Pisa," continued Olson, "it is nice but full of tourists and overcrowded." We agreed, but then headed over to la Torre as tourists, and to take some photos of Simoni's pink Scott CR1.

Scott prepared a special crono frame, to match Simoni's road frame, in pink. "É un bell'idea," said Pietro Algeri, Team DS, after he suggested BiciRace.com to take the bikes to the famous leaning tower. Simoni's rig is beautifully painted with the Pisa tower on the seat tube.

On a side note, while at the tower we were stopped by a Canadian, who asked where is Charles Dionne. Pietro explained, in French, that Dionne is training in Spain and not riding the Giro. Pietro then went on how he twice won the Six Day of Montreal. Very Classy.
