Bud Racing Team to ride Genius Boot

Karim Amour, professional trainer for both Bud Racing Team riders Kounsith Vongsana and Brenden Harrison, tells us why he choose the Scott Genius boot for the Bud Racing Team and what Kounsith impressions are after three months of riding the product . (Unfortunately, Brenden has been injured for the last few months).

Karim, what led Bud Racing Team to choose the Scott Genius Boot the 2008 season?

First, we love the concept of elevated protection the Scott Genius is bringing to MX. The Genius boot is completely different from the current boots riders are accustom to wearing. Brenden and Kounsith are young and have tremendous potential, I don’t want them to get injured. The Genius provides protection without sacrificing any performance or comfort, perfect for the young racers of Bud Racing.

Kounsith has been wearing the Scott Genius boot for now 3 months, how does he like them?

He loves them! I have to say we had some concerns, but once Kounsith wore the boot they were gone. Amazingly, the boot is very light and thanks to Scott Pivot System provides ample mobility. Another great aspect of the boots are that they are ride-ready, meaning they do not require a break in period like classic boots. From the first time he wore the boots Kounsith felt comfortable. Kounsith being a Pro rider, he is hard on his equipement and its good to see that the Genius boots are holding up to his day in day out riding schedule. Also, it’s nice to know if there is a problem, the boots are easily repaired as all the parts are replaceable.

How has working with Scott been?

Great! We are very excited to work with Scott and be a part of this “revolution” in the MX boot world. Scott has really taken care of us and they work hard to fulfill our needs as a professional motocross team. It’s a great partnership, we help Scott to evolve and improve the Genius and we are associated with a respected worldwide brand.
