Ericson defends crown in Snowcross World Championship opener
Peter Ericson, Scott athlete and defending champion, won the season opener of the FIM Snowcross World Championship series in Veysonnaz, Switzerland, taking the first two motos of round one. With the victory, Ericson jumps out in front in the standings with a lead of 92 points, followed by fellow Swede Daniel Olafsson, with 78 points.
Young newcomer and fellow Scott Goggles athlete, Viktor Stenman, posted solid results as well, and left Switzerland in 3rd overall in the standings.
The same cannot be said for 2-time champion (2004, 2005) Janne Tapio, who dislocated his elbow in the 2nd moto on Sunday.
The next round is scheduled for February 10 in Lahti, Finland.
