1-1 at Loket GP
August, 10, 2009
The thirteenth round of the World Motocross Championship was held in Loket, Czech Republic.
The Belgian MX1 rider, Clément Desalle, finally won his first ever MX1 GP, after winning the qualifying race on Saturday and getting the best gate choice for Sunday. German rider Max Nagl dominated the first moto, but Desalle got the second place points which would definitely help him onto the podium at the end of the day. Desalle got a good start in the second heat, before passing hole shot Pilippaerts and racing all the way to the checkered flag and the win. Nagl, second overall in Loket, is still second in the standings, Desalle with now fourth, only two points behind Philippaerts.

In the MX2 class, Paulin, winner of the opening muddy GP of Faenza was back on the podium in Loket to win his second GP of the 2009 season. Starting with a poor 16th qualifying position on the gate, Paulin worked his way up to the front to get the fourth in heat one, right behind Portuguese rider Rui Goncalves. The second heat was an easy one for Paulin, holeshot / lead / win, giving him the overall win of the GP. Goncalves got another third finish that placed him on the second position of the GP. Both riders are still in position to win the world champion title.
The next round will take place in Lierop, Holland, on August 30th with the women competing for their last round of the season.
