Scott riders successful at snowboardcross in Chile
The first FIS Snowboard World Cup event took place during September 13-18, 2005 in Valle Nevada, Chile.
The FIS has organized an intensive schedule with two early halfpipe World Cups and two Snowboardcross World Cups due the important upcoming season that will include the Olympic Games in Torino, Italy.
SCOTT Snowboardcross riders brought their good preparation into the season and will celebrate the top results they achieved in Chile.
Lindsey Jacobellis, USA (SCOTT International Eyewear Team) won the first Snowbarodcross World Cup. In perfect snow conditions and on an interesting course, she left her competitors far behind her. Maelle Ricker of Canada finished second and Marie Laissus of France was third. Mellie Francon and Tanja Frieden, both of Switzerland and members of the SCOTT International Team, came in fourth and fifth.
At the second Snowbaordcross World Cup the following day, SCOTT riders again proved their accomplishment and again finiahed in the top 10. This time, Tanja Frieden, SUI (SCOTT International Team) made the podium with the excellent third place. First went to Deborah Anthonioz of France and second went to Maelle Ricker. Lindsey Jacobellis, USA (SCOTT International Eyewear Team) was sixth and Mellie Francon, SUI (SCOTT International Team) finished ninth.
