Svindal wins Lake Louise Super G
First World Cup victory for Svindal
Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal (sponsored by SCOTT) scored his first Alpine World Cup victory this weekend in the Super G race in Lake Louise, Canada. Svindal is one of the new generation of skiing athletes and is competing in all four Alpine skiing disciplines. Aksel’s winning time was 1:26.04, Benjamin Raich (Austria) was second and Daron Ralves of the U.S. was third. Swiss skier Ambrosi Hoffmann (also sponsored by SCOTT) missed the podium by 0.23 seconds.
In the downhill on Saturday, another SCOTT Athlete finished on the podium. Well known Norwegian star Kjetil Andre Aamodt finished in second place. Fritz Strobl (Austria) was first and Marco Büchel (LIE) third. Svindal was sixth in the downhill.
