Laurent Favre injured at World Superpipe

It had been a very successful season so far for Laurent Favre from La Clusaz, France (SCOTT International Freeski Team). He won the biggest freestyle event in Europe, the Freestyle.ch in Zurich in September, and he won the London Ride, and was third in the Slopestyle and second in the Pipe at the Tignes Airwave. He then posted the biggest success of his career, a Silver medal at the X-Games Halfpipe in Aspen. Between all the contests, he rode in Canada, the U.S., and at home in France for filming to get his parts in international freestyle movies such as “Les House” from Plehouse Productions.

Last week he flew to Park City to compete at the World Superpipe Championships. Laurent crashed hard during practice and tore the MCL and ACL in his right knee. The season finished too early for him as he was in great shape and on his way to the Stockholm Big Air this week, followed by the European Open in Laax, The Candide Invitational in La Clusaz and the Olsson Invitational in Are, Sweden.

Laurent is at home now, awaiting surgery as soon as possible. He says he plans to go through some serious rehab to get back on his skis soon – skiing is his passion.

SCOTT Sports SA wishes him good luck in his recovery and hopefully we’ll see him ripping harder than ever next season.
