Jordan and Vasiuk win Freeride Quest

48 riders hiked up today under bluebird skies to the summit of the Aiguille d’Aujon in Flaine. They each had one single run to prove to the judges that they deserved one of the 14 spots in the upcoming Verbier Xtremes. The riders put on a grand show that delighted the spectators on hand.

During the awards cerrmony, Scott skier Estanislo Vasiuk of Argentina literally went wild with joy: “No me lo creo ! I can’t believe it, I have my ticket to Verbier !” Then, with a wicked smile, he added: “I’m so happy to show that Argentina is able to do something other than soccer.” His extremely fluid line and perfect airs and landings impressed the judges, who voted unanimously for him as the best skier.

Among the snowboarders, Scott Team rider Xavier Jordan of Switzerland was nervously waiting for the results. At the announcement of his name in first place, he saluted all the other riders and said: “The day was wonderful, we were all surprised by the good quality of the snow. I didn’t feel the pressure of competition when I was at the top with all my mates. I rode exactly the line I wanted to, so I’m thrilled”.

The Nissan Sports Adventure Freeride Tour was aiming to allow rookies to qualify for the Xtreme.
