Nino Schurter and Florian Vogel made it happen by winning gold and bronze at the XC World Championships in Canberra, Australia! Congratulations from SCOTT Bicycles for this fantastic effort by the riders and the entire team.





Nino and Florian, both of Team Scott-Swisspower MTB Racing, rode a tactically smart race aboard their SCOTT Scales. By lap three, the Swiss pair found themselves in the front group with only Julian Absalon and Jose Hermida for company, and used their advantage to control the race. Absalon and Schurter finally went on the offensive on lap five, dropping the other two in the process, and creating the winning break. The two front runners continued attacking one another until Nino put in a final dig going into the final single track section. With nowhere to pass on the last technical in run, Schurter held his advantage to the line. Florian, having played the loyal teammate, was rewarded with the bronze after out sprinting Hermida for third.



Nino Schurter is the first rider to win both U23 and Elite XC World Championship titles back to back. SCOTT bikes and the Scott-Swisspower MTB Racing riders are back on the podium.
